Emerald Cut

The emerald cut was, as the name suggests, originally used primarily for emeralds but has been used successfully on other stones to create an elegant effect with smooth brilliance rather than the fiery brilliance of other cuts, like the princess or brilliant round cut. This classic cut has a rectangular table shape at the top with cropped corners and stepped facets around the sides, creating an octagonal design. The ratio of length to width can vary, although a length one and a half times as long as the width creates a cut generally considered to be the most pleasing. The emerald cut diamond will have 58 facets.

There are a variety of settings available for engagement rings emerald cut rings will require a four-pronged setting. The style of setting will affect the amount of light allowed to pass through the diamond, influencing how striking the ring will appear.

Hatton Jewels supplies a wide range of emerald cut engagement rings that are both stylish and elegant. The diamond can be set as a solitaire for the most classic look or set between additional stones to create different effects. The glassy appearance of an emerald cut diamond can make an eye-catching engagement ring when it is set as an individual stone or combined with other stones.

Encircled with a row of brilliant cut diamonds which will glitter around it the diamond will show of its sophistication. A trapeze cut stone seated on either side is especially elegant and for a stylish ring a channel set row of baguette cut stones on the shoulders of the ring make a perfect match for the emerald cut.
