Sapphire belongs to the corundum group of minerals, which also includes ruby. The gemstone comes in a variety of different colours ranging from pink, to yellow, to green, with blue being the most famous of sapphire colours.
Sapphires from the Kashmir region of India are the most highly prized because of the deep, velvety blue colour of the stones, however the region today produces very little gem material.
Due to its excellent colour, lustre, durability and hardness, sapphires are one of the most sought after and valuable of gemstones.
The only natural gemstone that is harder than sapphire is diamond. However, care still needs to be taken when wearing, as the stone can chip and fracture if handled roughly.
Sapphire is the birthstone for September and is also used to celebrate a 45th wedding anniversary.
We only use the finest quality gemstones and all of the mounts are handmade using either British Hallmarked 18ct Gold or 950 Platinum.

If a diamond is independently certified by a laboratory a diamond certificate will be provided.
If a diamond is uncertified, one of our qualified diamond graders will examine the piece and give a colour and clarity which will be stated on the legally binding jewellery valuation that is supplied with all purchases.
