Predictions for the 2024 Met Gala: plus a look at our Met Gala Worthy Pieces
Regarded as fashion’s biggest night out, the 2024 Met Gala is mere days away. The first Monday in May is synonymous with extravagance, with celebrities coming together to walk the red carpet and raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
This Year's Met Gala
Every year the Met Gala acts as a platform for designers to really push the boundaries of fashion in all regards from the outfit to what we at Hatton Jewels love most - the jewellery.
With this year's theme being “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” and the red carpet dress code for the evening being “The Garden Time” complimenting the spring exhibition where archival fashion pieces from Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and Saint Lauren will be featured.
Predictions
According to those in the know, “The Garden of Time” dress code should have us seeing a fairly literal interpretation featuring pearl embellishments, period hair and textured tree inspired designs. Fashion icon Rihanna hinted that her attire for the Met Gala will focus predominantly on hair and makeup this year.
With the exhibition featuring an array of items from the 17th century Elizabethan era all the way through the 21st century with Stella McCartney having pieces on display at the museum.
Read on to explore our own take on the theme with the pieces we feel would be perfect for the 2024 Met Gala spanning from stunning Antique Jewellery to showing stopping modern items in our Pre-Owned Collection from famous jewellery houses such as Cartier.
