Some second-hand jewellery is highly sought after, so it can certainly be worth exploring the option of selling. Consider consulting with reputable jewellers for evaluations and weigh your options based on their assessments.

How can I sell my jewellery without getting ripped off?

To sell your jewellery without any worries of being taken advantage of, consider a few key steps. First, research reputable buyers with positive reviews and a transparent process. Obtain multiple quotes to gauge the fair market value of your items.

How much can you sell a ring for?

The value of a second-hand ring can vary depending on factors like brand, condition, and materials as well as the demand and saleability of the item. There is no set value for second-hand jewellery, so if you are looking to sell some jewellery, get in touch with a reputable company and they should be able to give you advise for your specific items.

What is the best day to sell jewellery?

Unfortunately, there is no way of determining the best day to sell jewellery, as the prices can vary based on factors such as market trends and economic conditions.

However, periods such as the run up to Christmas can produce a spike in demand for some types of items and when there is a higher demand, a higher price may be achieved.

We would advise that as the market is so fluid, it may not be beneficial to wait around in selling your item in hope for a seasonal spike as depending on your item, demand can peak different and unpredictable times.

Do diamonds still hold value?

Diamonds do indeed retain some, but not all their value. If a Diamond has been purchased new, it will have had VAT on the price and the retailer profit mark-up, which cannot be recouped on the second-hand market.

So, if you are looking to sell a Diamond, unfortunately, unless it is a multi-generational family heirloom, they will only hold part of their value.

What is 1 carat diamond worth?

There is an infinite number of characteristics that a 1ct Diamond may have that would affect what the Diamond can be worth.

To obtain the highest value for your diamonds when selling, seek out companies renowned for their expertise in diamond valuation and trading.

By choosing a reputable and knowledgeable buyer, you can maximize potential returns on the sale of a Diamond.

Do Tiffany rings hold value?

As with Diamonds, Tiffany rings do retain some but not all their value. Branded items such as Tiffany do command a higher price second-hand than their unbranded counterparts and have more demand, however, a much higher price is paid at the point of first purchase, so unfortunately, there will still be significant depreciation in the items value after initial purchase.

Does Tiffany buy back old jewellery?

Tiffany do not offer a buy-back service of their jewellery. Once an item has been purchased and passed the return period, they will not usually accept part-exchanges or buy-back your item.
