Spectacular Honeymoon Destinations
So your wedding day is obviously one of the most important days of your life, and you’ll do everything in your power to make it absolutely perfect and memorable—for you and your guests! A few weeks ago we suggested some incredible places where to tie the knot with your other half. Today, we’re suggesting striking places where you can experience the ultimate honeymoon and make all your friends super jealous! From a unique luxury cruise in the Antarctic to the bamboo forest in Kyoto, take a look at what we picked out for the most spectacular honeymoon you’ve never heard of!
10. Bagan, Myanmar
Bagan in central Burma is one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites, a sight to rival Machu Picchu or Angkor Wat but—for the time being at least—without the visitors. The setting is sublime—a verdant 26 square-mile plain, part-covered in stands of palm and tamarind caught in a bend of the lazy-flowing Irrawaddy River and framed by the hazy silver grey of distant mountains.
The best
initial way to see the temples is from a hot-air balloon. The roughly 45-minute
flights leave at dawn and drift over much of the site, with glorious views of
the river and distant mountains, hazed by mist, as well as a bird’s-eye view of
the temples and rural village life. Sunset flights are also available. The
setting is unbelievably magical, and I promise you will never forget the
incredible feeling that you will experience while you are in the land of the
Temples.
9. El Nido (Palawan), The Philippines
Nothing much to
be said, uh! This part of the Philippines is still very well persevered from
tourism, and makes up for the ideal honeymoon destination if you’re looking for
paradisiac white sand beaches and amazing snorkelling! Palawan is an
archipelago of 1,780 islands on the western part of the Philippines. It has the
most concentration of islands but is the most sparsely populated region in the
country. Palawan is without question the most exquisite part of the
Philippines; blessed with crystal-clear waters,
pristine beaches, and a wealth of flora and fauna!
If you’re looking for a jaw dropping, unique, luxurious, and tourist-free place to stay, check out El Nido Resorts. They offer a distinctive experience; an eco-island getaway. You won’t be disappointed!
8. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Willing to
spend a little bit more money on this unforgettable journey and to experience
wildness like never before? The jewel
in Tanzania’s safari crown, the Serengeti National Park is a vast expanse of
seemingly endless plains, home to the big five and host of the wildebeest
migration; often described as the greatest show on earth. It will be worth every single penny. With one of the largest concentrations of game on the
whole continent, it is not hard to see why the Serengeti is so popular!
7. Sapa, Vietnam
Adventurous? Athletic? Nature
lover? This Sapa escapade it tailored just for you! Offering unique views of
terraced rice fields (way more spectacular than the ones in Bali!), Sapa ranks
along Ha Long Bay and Hoi An in terms of attracting tourists solely on the merit
of its natural beauty and surrounding attractions. It’s particularly rich in
opportunities for treks, homestays and the kinds of panoramic views that leave
travel writers searching for fresh adjectives and a larger camera memory card.
6. Antarctica, North Pole
Awaken your soul to the wonder of Antarctica with one a spectacular Antarctic cruise. Revel in the beauty and overwhelming power of nature. Admire the staggering abundance of wildlife. Meet the personal challenge of reaching the earth’s last great wilderness frontier. You’ll cruise across seas of glass, passing giant prisms of ice riding an ink-blue sea. And you’ll share the landscape with bellowing elephant seals and raucous rookeries of penguins, unafraid and unperturbed by your presence.

highest standards of comfort, safety and style!
5. Uyuni Salt Desert, Bolivia
Looking for a surreal place? Something completely different than what you’ve ever seen? A desert where it’s actually not boiling!? We have the perfect place for you: Uyuni Salt Desert in Bolivia offers an exceptional experience, and will without any question provide you the best setting for the coolest honeymoon picture of all times!
4. Bamboo Forest Kyoto, Japan
Looking for a
cultural experience? A honeymoon in Japan will certainly transport you into
another world where you’ll have the chance to explore some of the busiest
cities in the world while exploring some wonders of nature that you can only
find in this incredibly rich country. An ancient culture of emperors, fierce shoguns, samurais and brutal
martial arts. Yet it’s also a place of gentle geishas, colourful kimonos,
exquisite garden design and Zen Buddhism. How did a country so deeply rooted in
such diverse heritage become one of the most modern and advanced economies on
the planet? Pondering such questions is what makes a trip to Japan so
incredibly rewarding. Having travelled there once, you’ll feel almost
hypnotically drawn back to this truly enigmatic country.
3. The Komodo Islands, Indonesia
Looking for strikingly beautiful landscapes? Cool activities? Romantic setting? On a budget?
Being named
one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011, this area has colourful fishing villages,
coral cays and deserted beaches of pale pink sand. As well as the above, it’s
got dragons, world-class diving, ragged volcanic islands straight out of King
Kong (the films were inspired by American millionaire W Douglas Burden’s
expedition here in 1932). Plus it has the kind of laid-back vibe (and budget)
that appeals to backpackers on the hunt for the next undiscovered destination—along
the lines of Bali but 15 years ago. Flights to Flores from Bali costs about £85
return, and take an hour and a half. What’s not to love?
2. Zhangjiajie Forest Hunan, China
Feeling audacious for your honeymoon!? Head to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the first authorised national forest park in China. The area covers 480 thousand square metres and can be described as majestic, eccentric, tranquil, delicate and wild. The park features grotesque peaks, lucid brooks, abundant faunas and floras and hospitable climate. No wonders Avatar was filmed in these mountains!
1.The Seychelles, Eastern Africa
Here aren’t many places on Earth where hawksbill turtles feel so unthreatened that they come ashore in broad daylight to lay their eggs. The Seychelles is one place where they do, and that’s why you will want to spend your honeymoon here. These granitic and coral islands, around 1,100 miles from the Tanzanian coast, are wilder and less glossily perfect than the Maldives, to the north and east. But they are certainly alluring, with the attractions of surreal rock formations, lush forests and Creole heritage, as well as some of the world’s best beaches and cerulean seas.
