The Dress-Down On Dress Rings

Adding a selection of dress rings - often called cocktail rings - is an instant way to elevate any outfit with glamour and style. Known for their bright colours and eye-catching designs, their style can be dated back to the 1920s and remain as popular as ever today.
What are dress rings?
Dress ring or cocktail rings date back to the early 20th century, but rose to prominence during the prohibition era in the 1920s. During this time, women wore these rings on the right finger in a way to discreetly order drinks at underground bars called speakeasies. More than just jewellery, these rings became symbols of the new found freedom and status women enjoyed during this era.
Rings featuring bold geometric designs, colourful stones and intricate cuts associated with the Art Deco Design became widely worn breaking societal norms and normalising personal style and expression.
Once Prohibition ended, the cocktail ring remained popular. Today, they continue to represent individual style, often incorporating large, brightly coloured centre stones in unique and artistic settings. Whether vintage or modern, a dress ring remains a captivating addition to any jewellery collection.
